Claude Launches New Features to improve Data Visualization and Presentation Creation

Beginning today, users can leverage Claude to transform raw data into dynamic dashboards and convert concepts into animated explainers for presentations. The new feature, Claude Dashboards, integrates with data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake, as well as customer relationship management systems like Salesforce, and is currently in beta for users on paid plans. Meanwhile, Claude Motion is in its beta phase for Team and Enterprise users, while Claude Docs, Slides, and Design have exited beta and are now accessible across all tiers, including Free.

Typically, accessing company data requires filing a ticket or composing SQL queries, and visualizing ideas often translates to another static slide. With Claude, users can now request their dashboards and animations directly, observing how Claude generates them. Each chart includes the underlying query, and every animation is constructed as modifiable code. Claude produces the initial version, allowing users to control what is shared.

Claude Dashboards enables users to connect their data platforms, such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake, and pose questions in simple language. Claude extracts information from these systems, creates the dashboard, and automatically updates it as data evolves. This feature interacts seamlessly with existing integrations, allowing users to ask for dashboards related to Salesforce opportunities. It is particularly useful for quick exploratory inquiries, such as comparing this week’s sign-ups with last month’s. Users can click on figures to view the query or request Claude for explanations, with each chart displaying the last time its data was updated.

These dashboards complement business intelligence and analytics tools. For deeper analysis, users can forward dashboards from Claude to services like Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, or Sigma, with Looker, monday.com, and Tableau set to join soon.

In addition, Claude Motion allows users to transform quarterly reports into concise explainers for larger meetings, enhance charts within presentations, or create product walkthroughs for onboarding purposes. Claude generates animations based on user prompts, producing video-like outputs. Users have the option to modify these animations in the editor or request adjustments, with the final product available for download as an MP4 file.

Claude Motion focuses on facilitating users in presenting their work more effectively. It generates code to animate text, charts, shapes, and images, enabling changes to any text, figure, or timing. It does not rely on video generation models, ensuring no generated footage or AI-created characters. For advanced enhancements, users can easily transition their work to applications such as Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway, with Canva and Captions on the horizon.

Since the introduction of Claude Docs, Slides, and Design within the platform, users have created over 45 million documents, presentations, and designs. Many updates have been implemented based on user feedback, significantly improving daily usability as they transition out of beta.

Claude Design has integrated into Claude, eliminating the need for a separate URL. Now functioning seamlessly within the main platform since September 16, users can access a single version of Design that utilizes their context, files, and connectors. For those using the existing standalone version, it will remain active until December 14, providing time to transition.

To begin, users can simply ask Claude for specific needs, such as creating a dashboard of quarterly revenue by region, animating pricing comparisons for sales events, or developing a presentation from existing notes. For enterprise administrators, features such as Dashboards and Motion are disabled by default but can be activated in organization settings. Docs, Slides, and Design will automatically enable on October 15 or may be turned on immediately.
