Among the highlights was the launch of Qwen Book, a cutting-edge agentic computer operating on Alibaba’s Qwen Desktop OS. This device merges the capabilities of native Qwen models, its operating system, applications, and cloud services, creating a cohesive and efficient computing environment designed for contextual understanding and task management.
A key feature of Qwen Book is its ability to respond to voice commands via a stylus that doubles as a microphone. For example, users editing a presentation can voice their requests, prompting Qwen Book to retrieve files from the cloud, locate specific slides, and execute the necessary edits. This functionality allows users to review modifications directly from their smartphones, offering flexibility and convenience.
Alibaba also expanded its wearable technology lineup, presenting the Qwen Glasses N1 series and Qwen Clip in China. The Qwen Glasses N1 series boasts first-person HD imaging capabilities through a 50-megapixel sensor, with the N1 Pro version introducing eye-tracking technology for interactive features such as object recognition and iris-based payments.
The Qwen Clip, designed in collaboration with Bose, offers an open-ear design and integrates the Qwen AI assistant for functionalities like face-to-face translation and AI-driven note-taking. Pre-orders for these devices began on September 22, with full sales expected to commence on October 13.
Additionally, Alibaba showcased the QwenNote A2, a portable upgrade to its previous DingTalk A1 note-taking device. This new gadget is tailored to capture offline dialogues and convert them into actionable insights, enhancing the capabilities of AI agents. Users can easily assign tasks to the QwenWork AI agent through voice commands, allowing for smooth transcription and management of captured content.
Equipped with advanced features, QwenNote A2 supports real-time dialogue and can independently operate with built-in 4G connectivity. To ensure user privacy, audio data is encrypted during transmission and deleted post-transcription, retaining only essential text summaries. Weighing 67 grams, it offers an impressive transcription duration of up to 40 hours and a standby time of 18 days.
