Googles AI chatbot Gemini has rocketed past 750 million monthly active users, a milestone revealed in the companys fourth-quarter 2025 earnings report. This surge underscores the explosive popularity of Geminis consumer-facing tools, positioning it as a major force in the competitive landscape of artificial intelligence.
Just three months ago, Google logged 650 million monthly active users for Gemini, highlighting the platforms impressive acceleration. For context, Meta AI boasts close to 500 million users, but Gemini still lags behind the industry leader, ChatGPT, which analysts peg at approximately 810 million monthly actives toward the end of 2025.
The fresh user statistics arrive amid the debut of Gemini 3, Googles latest and most sophisticated AI model, designed to deliver responses with remarkable insight and subtlety. During the earnings call, CEO Sundar Pichai described the rollout of Gemini 3 in AI mode as a key catalyst for the companys upward trajectory, adding that ongoing investments and refinements will sustain this progress.
In a bid to broaden access, Google recently introduced the Google AI Plus subscription at $7.99 monthly, targeting cost-sensitive users. Though launched too late to impact these quarterly results, the plan aims to fuel even more adoption through affordable premium features.
Googles chief business officer Philipp Schindler noted on the investor call that the company is prioritizing both free access and paid tiers, yielding strong results across the board.
Geminis ascent stands out against Alphabets broader financial wins, with the parent company crossing $400 billion in yearly revenue for the first time. Google credits this feat to the booming AI sector, bolstered by rising demand. To strengthen its hardware edge, the firm unveiled Ironwood, the newest iteration of its TPU AI accelerator chips, aimed squarely at challenging Nvidia in the market.
In the earnings release, Pichai emphasized that Gemini 3 marks a pivotal achievement, with robust forward momentum. He pointed out that Googles proprietary models, including Gemini, now handle more than 10 billion tokens per minute through direct API calls from customers. The Gemini app itself has reached over 750 million monthly active users, while search traffic hit record highs, propelled by AIs role in expanding user engagement.
