Meta has launched Style Sketch, an artificial intelligence app designed to help users create outfits from clothes they already own, in a limited release across Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
The app can build a digital wardrobe using photos shared on Instagram or images users upload themselves. Users can also add clothing by taking pictures or recording short videos, according to its description in the Apple App Store.

Style Sketch recommends outfit combinations based on a user’s wardrobe and stated style. It also offers virtual try-ons featuring a model intended to match the user’s body shape and skin tone. Users can select a particular item to receive suggestions for how to wear it.
The app can also generate packing plans for trips. Users enter their destination, travel dates and planned activities to receive daily outfit suggestions that take the forecast and itinerary into account.
Social media consultant Matt Navarra first drew attention to the app. Meta did not respond to a request for comment, and it’s unclear whether the company intends to release Style Sketch in other markets. The app is available on iOS and Android in the three countries.
Other services already use AI to help people catalogue clothes and explore outfit combinations, including products from startups and Google Photos. Meta may seek an advantage through the app’s connection to Instagram, where users have often already shared images that reflect their personal style.
Style Sketch is part of a broader stream of AI-related apps from Meta. Recent launches include Waddle World, an AI-powered virtual pet app, Pocket, a tool for creating and sharing games, and Vibes, which lets users generate videos with AI.
The releases reflect Meta’s broader push to introduce more apps. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year that Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg told employees the company planned to increase its app launches, with AI efficiencies making development and release faster.
