Midjourney has announced a series of updates on its platform, aiming to enhance usability while maintaining existing user control. Users are encouraged to report any bugs they encounter as ongoing improvements are made.

The v8.2 editor has seen several fixes. A new prompt bar now inquires, “What would you like to change?” when an image is attached. Draft batches will display source images in a grid format, complete with a hover preview and an improved Enhance feature that replaces the previous Upscale button. Users can now also add images to folders directly from the editor, even if no folders have been created yet.
For mobile and tablet users, the updates include a more intuitive layout making full use of screen width. The interface has been adjusted to prevent content from hiding behind the bottom navigation bar. Additionally, rotating devices will no longer leave a blank area at the screen’s edges. Upload menus include new options, allowing for deletion of files, while the search function is designed to automatically open the keyboard.
In the prompt bar, improvements have been made to prevent freezing when entering commands. The command --no a, b will now read the full list entered, and long texts will wrap instead of being cut off. Users will find that what is typed remains visible even when previews are generated. The search drawer now displays Frequent and Recent references, allowing easy filtering.
Organizational features have been upgraded as well, with the ability to drag images into folders even when the sidebar is closed. Links added to moodboards are now functional for external sites. The organization tools have been elevated to a top-level position within the interface.
Midjourney reports that the update has improved overall performance, with animations functioning correctly, and the interface experiencing a faster response time. Scrolling through feeds is more fluid with updated keyboard shortcuts aiding navigation.
Future updates will focus on setting default parameters, previewing session references alongside prompts, and maintaining user searches when navigating back from an image.
